Secret Garden Residence

Tucked away in an established neighborhood of mature trees and deep lots, this comfortable and charming house is influenced by classic French details. Upon their arrival, guests are welcomed by elegantly wide stairs into a large receiving hall via the covered porch that serves as an entry foyer. Enlivening the family style comfort and simplicity is natural light from the windows and doors that lead to the rear outdoor spaces. The receiving hall flows into a large gallery that is lined with these windows and doors. The gallery acts as the spine of the home and is an illuminated connection between the private master suite and the public spaces of the dining room, family room, and kitchen. The gallery and these public spaces have visual and physical access to the outdoors and are continued by the rear covered porch which serves as an outdoor living space. This flow of spaces encourages casual entertaining and allows for the charm of the indoors to extend to the rear yard so that it, too, becomes a living space itself.
