Cypress Point

Shapiro & Companys role is varied in this 100 acre development along the Gulf Coast. This waterfront community on the Eastern Shore overlooking the Mobile Delta will embrace its lush natural landscape. As part of the development team we will help create its Vision and Master Plan. As Town Architect we will devise the Design Guidelines and oversee a select group of Architects. We are also responsible for the design of the Main Entry, Clubhouse, Restaurant, and Cottages.

The Architectural Vision for Cypress Point will be based on the traditions of classically inspired Southern Architecture. Rooted in the local vernacular, the architecture will draw its inspiration from the Delta traditions, but will also respond to modern living patterns and lifestyles. The architecture will be beautifully proportioned, crafted, and built to create warmth and comfort for the families and visitors of Cypress Point.

Cypress Point will have an eye toward establishing architectural harmony and connection throughout the community while also using various architectural styles to provide a rich and varied environment. Timeless design principles will be incorporated into the architectural styles that are prevalent in the Delta such as: French Colonial, Colonial Revival, Spanish Colonial, and Craftsman. These styles will embody the classical principles of scale, proportion, and appropriate detail.
